Hello,

I would like to know if your plugin, Ultimate WP Query Search Filter, can make research in custom fields ? I test it with categories and tags and it works. I also use the plugin Advanced Custom Fields to create culstom fields in my posts. But I don't manage to make research from these custom fields with your plugin.

Do you know if these 2 plugins are not compatible ? Or perhaps I can't use custom fields to make queries ?

Thank you, and sorry for my poor English...

This UWPQSF is designed to work with custom meta field.
However, AFC is not fully supported by this plugin. It is because the AFC customize the meta field with it own method. So, not all meta fields that created by AFC can work with the plugin. Generally, meta field that created by AFC which have repeat field cannot works with this plugin. Only single value AFC meta field work with this plugin.

For example, checkboxes and repeated field that created by AFC is not support in this plugin.

Thank you for your answer !
Can you recommand me a plugin to create easily custom fields which works with your plugin ? I need custom fields to create some fields with free text (to write the name), or with a mask (for the phone number) or with a list to check.

I know it's an older topic, but I run into the same...

Is it possible to make my own meta values, run the search and before the search is outputted, override it with a custom query, which takes the checkboxes into account (tax_array) ?

Yes, read this and this.

Yes, you can use the customize filter to edit the results (for ajax result)

I don't know why you want to do this, but if the checkbox is from taxonomy, this plugin is supported.

I think you misunderstood what I meant....

I know ACF doesn't store meta fields properly, so I want to take the options I inputted in ACF, then enter these in the Meta box.
My checkbox is not a taxonomy, just a big selection of checkboxes made with ACF (about 50).

I created a function to hook into uwpqsf_result_tempt.
See: http://pastebin.com/rjpuB79J

If I understand correctly $results are the actual search results.
What is the difference between $arg and $getdata ?

I noticed I do find my checkbox values in $getdata but not in $arg.

So I want to read these values before $wp_query is 'filled' on line 59,
so I can create a new WP_Query with these values.

I added a meta field called dvp_services, which is an ACF checkbox.
I then didn't generate the ACF values but added 3 values which I know were used.
I added this as > value1::value1|value2::value2|value3::value3

I tested this with ajax and without ajax.
If I dump $arg with ajax, the meta field is not recognised but if I use the normal search I can see the meta term as last variable in the URL.

So I search for just 1 searchbox, I get one error (which I had expected), but when I change $arg to $new_args to use the new values, it also gives me an error and I didn't expect that. Can you elaborate a bit more ?

AFC checkboxes will store the serialized data, which cannot be used in this plugin for search.
Hence you will not get correct result.

I noticed I do find my checkbox values in $getdata but not in $arg.

The $getdata is the query parameter just like url parameter. You can get the value like you extract from GET and POST request, eg getdata['cmf1'] etc.

The $arg is the arguments that passed to the wp_query class. These arguments data actually extracted from the query ($getdata).

I understand why i'm not getting the results default.

I get the values from getdata. I would then like to run a new query with the data from getdata.
Then feed that back as search results.

I think this is possible in a way... Just need some tips...

You got to decide which wp_query arguments you want feed. And get that data from the $getdata.
