Post "Search" all returning all sites posts
on: January 12, 2016, 08:41

Hello !

First of all, great plugin, it's currently saving my life. I've been looking on this forum but doesn't seem like somebody had the same problem.
I have a problem that I hope we can find a solution.

I created a custom taxonimy with the plugin "Custom Post Type UI".
I choosed it for the custom taxonimy in drop down. When I search one of the taxonimy's tag I return a good result.
But when I "search all", it returns all my site's posts.

I'm loading the result in ajax in the same page. Using a child theme, and used the hook in functions.php tu customise the result (with custom div, thumbnail, ..). Having IN in operator and AND for boolean relationship between the taxonomy queries.

So if it's not possible to fix this, is it possible to remove "search all" from the drop down ?

Thank you again for this plugin, have a nice day.

First of all, you have to know that, what this plugin does not really 'search', what it does is actually filter the posts. That's why when you 'search all' , it will return all the posts.
Yes, you can remove the search all, Just leave blank in the Search All option in the filter, then it will not appear.

Maybe it can help so I put it here :

If you want to reset ajax's result on the page but you don't have the time / ability to make a script, the solution can be to refresh the page with html button, it's not so slow and your screen's position will not be affected by coming back to top of the page :

<INPUT TYPE="button" onClick="history.go(0)" VALUE="RESET">

It's pretty simple, you put it where you want on your page and it'll refresh when user click on it.
